I'd just got the portapotti ready for use and up turns Dolly Parton. She was in the area as she was appearing in a concert organized by the National Trust, starring with Bjorn Again (Abba Tribute band) and Star Star (New Faces winners 1983). She loved the site and thought it was in a lovely setting and very well kept. She even bought a bag of chips from the mobile fish and chip shop that came on Friday evening. We apologized for not taking the awning, but she assured us on Saturday morning that she had slept well on the back seat of the mondeo.

We had just finished breakfast on Saturday morning, when Hugh Hefner and companion were knocking on the door. He too was staying on the site, pitched around the children's play area. He was taking a weekend break from the playboy mansion and proudly showed me around his van, a 1976 Monza. It even had the original gas mantles but he had wired up a strip light connected to a car battery for day to day use.

So the rumours are true, he is alive and well and living in Worksop. He was just dropping by to see the new developments to the site, as he hasn't stayed on it for a few years since he let his membership to the Caravan Club lapse. He was extremely impressed by the amount of hard standings available and thought the toilets and wash up facilities were immaculate. Here he is entertaining the children singing a few of his well known hits after enjoying a few burgers off the barbeque.

Who should we bump into whilst cycling around Clumber Park but model Jordan. She was in the park visiting the gothic style cathedral near the parks lake in which she had a particular interest. She thought the buggy attached to the bike was ideal for toddlers and babies, and couldn't believe that we had hired the two bikes and buggy for £13 for two hours. When she returned to the site with us, as I was concerned she would burn wearing such an outfit, and insisted in applying a high factor sun cream, she visited the parent and baby room. She was so impressed with this facility that she promised to bring baby Harvey next time she visited, so he could be nice and clean when walking around nearby Thorsby Sunday Market.

What a pile of ****! And behind him is a giant compost heap.

Sorry Gareth, only joking. Pop Idol loser, Gareth Gates, popped in for coffee on his way to his regular Sunday jaunt, feeding the ducks on Clumber's lake. Here he is posing in front of the view from the rear of our van. He even filled a couple of Tesco's bags with the compost as he reckoned that it would be ideal to promote the growth of the sweet peas he had recently planted in front of his trellis.
