Losehill Castleton Caravan Club Site, Castleton

I'd just got the kids to sleep and was ready to tune into Big Brother when who should turn up but Davina MacCall. She explained that there had been a security problem with Big Brother that night and after being evacuated from the studio, thought this might be an excellent opportunity to pay a visit. Anyway, I soon roped her in to babysitting whilst I took the five minute stroll into Castleton to visit the local alcohol dispensaries. Lucky for her the kids slept through and there was a decent reception on the TV/video combo.

But who should I bump into in the Peak Tavern but Beyonce Knowles. She was taking part in the Karaoke Search for a Star and was giving a cracking rendition of Elkie Brooke's 'Pearl's a Singer'. Try as I might, I couldn't dissuade her from returning to the van as we knew, what with Davina stopping and no awning, sleeping space would be limited. However she insisted, as Asda's Chinese Pork on the barbeque is her personal favourite. Anyway, it all worked out in the end, as the wife, kids, Beyonce and I slept top to tail on the front double bed, whilst Davina slept upon a spare quilt in the kitchen area. Sorry Davina for treading on your fingers whilst making a toilet call in the early hours.

The following morning there's a knock on the door, and there's Prince William stood on the caravan step. He seemed rather disappointed that Beyonce had already left, as she had made an early start wanting to visit Criche tram museum. However, he made himself useful, bathing the kids in the parent and toddler room before he had to leave to open Hathersage Gala. Cheers Will!

Our final guest was songbird, Barabara Streisand. I bumped into her at Matlock Bath, where she was playing the part of 'Gullimouse' at the children's attraction "Gulliver's Kingdom." She seemed quite relieved to hang up her mouse costume and return with me back to the site. We even stopped off at Bakewell market so she return some towels that she had bought a week earlier that had shrunk in the wash. She thought the site was gorgeous and was impressed that all the pitches were hard standing. She thought all the facilities were immaculate including the toilets, dishwashing facilities, laundry and drying room and even found time for a game of pool in the family room. Thanks for emptying the Portapotti Barbara!
